The GIICL Type Drum Gear Coupling is a high-performance flexible coupling designed to connect two rotating shafts and transmit high torque while compensating for various types of shaft misalignments. This coupling is widely used in heavy-duty industrial applications such as steel mills, mining, cement production, lifting equipment, and petroleum machinery.
The GIICL coupling consists of two hubs with crowned external gear teeth and two flanged sleeves with straight internal teeth. The gear teeth are designed with a special curvature (drum-shaped) to improve the meshing performance and reduce stress concentration, allowing the coupling to accommodate greater angular displacement and operate smoothly under high loads.
Product Advantages:
Drum-shaped gear teeth provide improved contact conditions, allowing for higher angular misalignment (up to 1.5°) compared to straight-tooth gear couplings.
High torque transmission capacity due to large meshing area and strong structural design.
Excellent shock absorption and vibration resistance, making it ideal for high-load and high-speed rotating equipment.
Compact and robust design for reliable long-term operation in harsh environments.
Easy installation and alignment with split flange and bolt-connected structure.
Long service life thanks to precision machining, high-quality materials, and hardened gear surfaces.
Application Scope:
The GIICL drum gear coupling is especially suited for medium and large machinery requiring high power transmission with limited installation space and varying operating conditions. It is commonly used in:
Steel rolling equipment
Crane hoisting systems
Mining and tunneling machines
Paper making and chemical processing equipment
Heavy-duty pumps, fans, and compressors
Working Conditions:
Ambient temperature: –20°C to +80°C (or customized for higher/lower temperatures)
Suitable for forward and reverse rotation
Capable of compensating for radial, axial, and angular misalignment
Can be equipped with a sealing structure for grease lubrication
The GIICL Type Drum Gear Coupling is a reliable and efficient solution for demanding mechanical systems where precision, durability, and flexibility are essential.
